Edging Strip (U) – LVT Edging Strip for 3mm Vinyl

The Edging Strip (U) works like an end bar. It covers exposed floor edges where there is no adjoining surface to transition to. However, rather than sitting over the top of the floor edge, the U profile channels the LVT inside it. The floor slides into the trim and the edge tucks fully inside the channel. This gives a lower, cleaner finish than a standard end bar. Furthermore, the Edging Strip (U) is the aluminium LVT edging strip for 3mm stick-down vinyl in the range.

The U trim also pairs with the Step To Riser Trim (W) at wall bases to create a skirting board effect. This works well where you have taken the skirting out or where a low-profile wall finish suits better.

Where to Use the Edging Strip

Use the U trim anywhere the floor meets a hard stop with no surface beyond it. This includes fireplaces, back doors, front doors, patio doors, and exposed step edges. In each case, screw the trim down with the screws and rawl plugs that come with it before the LVT goes in. Then feather the Planiprep Fix floor levelling compound around it so the floor sits flush inside the channel.

For wall bases, run the Edging Strip along the bottom of the wall. Pair it with the Step To Riser Trim (W) for a clean skirting board effect around the perimeter.

Dimensions and Cutting

The U profile is 27mm wide with a 3mm channel depth and a 6mm return at the top. As a result, It takes 3mm LVT only. As it is aluminium, it cuts cleanly with a chopsaw or hacksaw. The 2.7m length covers most standard runs with minimal joins.

Completing Your LVT Edging Strip Installation

The Edging Strip (U) is part of the Trims for 3mm Vinyl/LVT range. All profiles work together on the same installation. Use it alongside the Minimalistic Nosing (M) and Step To Riser Trim (W) – screw all trims down first, feather the Planiprep Fix around them, then lay the LVT to finish.
