The White Varnished Oak Stair Nosing sits across the front edge of each stair tread, protecting it from wear. It gives each step a clean, defined finish and is part of the LD7 Laminate range from All-In-All. Made from MDF with a laminated top layer, it carries a pale natural oak finish with a clear varnish. A visible straight grain runs through the surface, adding natural character to the finish. In particular, the slight warm yellow undertone gives it an unfussy, natural look. It works well with light oak and natural-toned laminate floors throughout the home.
At 54mm wide and 16mm deep, it covers the tread edge fully without creating a lip that catches underfoot. Each bar is 1.2m in length, cutting down to the width of each tread with a clean edge. The laminated surface is hardwearing and holds up well underfoot on a busy staircase.
The White Varnished Oak Stair Nosing is the right choice wherever laminate flooring runs up a flight of stairs. It prevents the floor from lifting at the nosing point and reduces wear at each tread. As well as protecting the tread from wear, it also covers the raw exposed edge left by the laminate. Overall, it removes the ugly unfinished edge and gives the staircase a professional finish.
However, the stair nosing is not always the right choice at a laminate-to-carpet transition on stairs. In this situation, both surfaces can end up with a nosing, creating an awkward double nosing effect. The White Varnished Oak LD7 Laminate Ramp Bar is often the better option here. It ramps smoothly from the laminate down to meet the carpet, handling the height difference without creating a second nosing profile. For the best beading match, browse the Laminate Scotia Beading range to find the closest colour to your floor.
Apply strong bonding adhesive to the back of the nosing and the top of the tread. Press it firmly into position and hold for a moment to let the adhesive grip. Once in place, pin through the nosing into the tread using a pin gun to lock it down fully. One nosing per tread – do not attempt to run a single length across two steps.
Cut to the width of each tread using a chopsaw, jigsaw, or handsaw. Additionally, score the laminate surface lightly before the full cut to reduce the chance of chipping at the edge.
The LD7 colour code runs across the full All-In-All laminate accessory range. As a result, the nosing, door bars, and beading can all match through the same installation.
