The varnished oak ramp bar from All-In-All has a pale natural oak finish with a clear varnish and a visible straight grain. There is a slight warm yellow undertone that gives it a natural, unfussy look. All-In-All manufacture it exclusively to their own specification using MDF with a laminated top layer. As a result, it works well with light oak and natural-toned laminate floors wherever a height difference needs bridging at a doorway.
This light oak ramp bar is the right choice when one hard floor sits higher than the other at a doorway. It tapers from the higher floor down to the lower surface. As a result, it covers the height difference and protects both floor edges in the process. Using the fixing track, it covers height differences of 6-12mm. This suits the majority of standard doorway transitions between hard floors.
The varnished oak ramp bar also works at transitions from a hard floor down to carpet. Where a larger height difference needs covering, you can glue and pin the bar. Alternatively, fix it with a strong bonding adhesive instead. Either method takes you beyond the 12mm track range. In both cases, weight the bar down while it sets to ensure a firm bond.
Fitting uses the included fixing track. First, screw or glue the track to the subfloor, then clip the bar into place. The track accommodates a floor thickness of 6-12mm. A chopsaw or jigsaw will cut the bar cleanly to length. Always wear eye protection when cutting.
This ramp bar is available in 0.9m and 2.4m lengths. For most standard doorways, the 0.9m length is sufficient. However, the 2.4m length is useful for wider openings or where more than one cut is needed from a single length.
There is no exact scotia match for this natural oak door bar. However, the full laminate scotia range is available if you need a finishing trim at the room edge.
