Unfinished Flat Bar – Solid Oak Door Bar

The unfinished flat bar is a solid oak door bar for finishing the join between two hard floors at the same height. It leaves the factory as raw natural oak with no stain, no lacquer, and no applied finish. In particular, this means you can sand, stain, oil, or lacquer it on site to match your floor exactly. The pale natural grain and clean wood surface take treatments evenly and consistently.

The bar is 44mm wide and 6.5mm tall. It sits flat across the join with a low, unobtrusive profile. There is no fixing track on this bar – it fixes directly to the subfloor.

Where to Use an Unfinished Solid Oak Flat Bar

The flat bar is for doorways where both floors sit at the same height and a low-profile finish suits the space. Specifically, it suits internal doorways where solid or engineered wood runs between rooms and a minimal threshold works better than the T-bar profile.

Overall, the Unfinished bar is the right choice when none of the pre-finished colours match the floor precisely. It also suits situations where the floor is being finished on site and the bar needs to match the same treatment. Where a higher profile T-bar is preferred, the Unfinished T-Bar is the alternative profile to use.

Fitting and Cutting

Glue the bar to the subfloor across the doorway gap. Pin through the bar into the floor to hold it in place while the adhesive sets. Alternatively, glue and weigh the bar down until the adhesive sets.

Cut to length with a chopsaw or jigsaw.

Lengths and Colour Matching

The unfinished flat bar is available in 2.4m only. It cuts down easily to fit most standard and wider doorway openings.
