Prune T-Bar – Solid Oak Door Bar

The prune t-bar is a solid oak door bar for finishing the join between two hard floors at the same height. The Prune finish is a warm orange-brown with a very subtle hint of reddish-brown and strong natural grain lines running through the surface. In particular, the warmth of the finish combined with the depth of the grain gives the bar a rich, characterful appearance. No printed finish replicates it.

The bar is 50mm wide. The top face sits 5mm above the floor at the crown and tapers to floor level at the edges. The supplied fixing track adjusts to floor thicknesses of 14 to 18mm, covering the standard range for solid and engineered wood installations.

Where to Use a Prune Solid Oak Door Bar

The T-bar profile is for doorways where both floors sit at the same height. Specifically, it suits internal doorways where solid or engineered wood runs between rooms. It also suits wider double doorway openings where a flooring change creates a visible join without a height step between surfaces.

Overall, Prune works well in warm, traditional interiors – rooms with medium to dark wood floors, rich toned skirting, and earthy finishes throughout. It also reads well as a contrast bar set against a lighter floor. Where there is a height difference between the two floors, the Prune Ramp Bar is the correct profile to use.

Fitting and Cutting

Screw or glue the fixing track to the subfloor in the doorway gap. Once both floors are fitted up to the track, push the T-Bar onto the track to finish. If you cannot use the track, glue the bar to the subfloor and pin through the bar into the floor while the adhesive sets. Alternatively, glue and weigh the bar down until the adhesive sets.

Cut to length with a chopsaw or jigsaw.

Lengths and Colour Matching

The prune t-bar is available in 0.9m and 2.4m, selectable on this page. For most standard internal doorways, the 0.9m bar is the right choice. Meanwhile, the 2.4m bar is the better option for wider double doorway openings.
