Pewter Grey End Bar – Solid Oak Door Bar

The pewter grey end bar is a solid oak door bar that gives a neat finish at the exposed edge of a solid or engineered wood floor. The Pewter Grey finish has a warm medium brown oak base with a subtle grey tinge across the surface and greyer grain lines running through. In particular, it is the combination of the warm brown base and the cooler grey tone that gives the bar its distinctive pewter quality. No printed finish replicates it.

The bar is 34mm wide and 15mm tall at the floor edge, sitting 5mm above the floor on the visible side. The supplied fixing track adjusts to floor thicknesses of 14 to 18mm.

Where to Use a Pewter Grey Solid Oak End Bar

The end bar is for situations where the floor has an exposed edge with no adjoining floor surface to meet. Specifically, it suits thresholds at patio doors, bifold doors, fireplaces, and mat wells where the solid or engineered wood floor ends without a second floor on the other side.

Overall, Pewter Grey works well in interiors that mix warm and cool tones. It suits rooms with grey or greyed-brown wood floors, neutral skirting, and understated finishes throughout. Where there is an adjoining floor at the same height, the Pewter Grey T-Bar is the correct profile. Where the adjoining floor sits lower, the Pewter Grey Ramp Bar is the right choice instead.

Fitting and Cutting

Screw or glue the fixing track to the subfloor at the floor edge. Once the floor is fitted up to the track, push the End Bar into the track to finish. If you cannot use the track, glue the bar to the subfloor and pin through the bar into the floor while the adhesive sets. Alternatively, glue and weigh the bar down until the adhesive sets.

Cut to length with a chopsaw or jigsaw.

Lengths and Colour Matching

The pewter grey end bar is available in 0.9m and 2.4m, selectable on this page. For most standard openings, the 0.9m bar is the right choice. Meanwhile, the 2.4m bar is the better option for wider patio door and bifold door openings.
