Lacquered Oak T-Bar – Solid Oak Door Bar

The lacquered oak t-bar is a solid oak door bar for finishing the join between two hard floors at the same height. The Lacquered Oak finish is a clear lacquer over natural oak – no stain, no added colour. The tone ranges from pale honey to deeper amber-brown depending on the individual piece. Fine grain lines and reddish-brown streaks run through the surface naturally. In particular, this natural variation is what you would expect from a real wood product. No two bars will look exactly the same.

The bar is 50mm wide and sits 5mm above the floor surface. The supplied fixing track adjusts to floor thicknesses of 14 to 18mm, covering the standard range for solid and engineered wood installations.

Where to Use a Lacquered Oak Solid Oak Door Bar

The T-bar profile is for doorways where both floors sit at the same height. Specifically, it suits internal doorways where solid or engineered wood runs between rooms. It also suits wider double doorway openings where a flooring change creates a visible join without a height step between surfaces.

Overall, Lacquered Oak works well in warm, natural interiors. It suits rooms with oak or light wood floors, natural skirting, and traditional or contemporary finishes throughout. It also blends naturally where the floor is a similar natural oak tone. Where there is a height difference between the two floors, the Lacquered Oak Ramp Bar is the correct profile to use.

Fitting and Cutting

Screw or glue the fixing track to the subfloor in the doorway gap. Once both floors are fitted up to the track, push the T-Bar onto the track to finish. If you cannot use the track, glue the bar to the subfloor and pin through the bar into the floor while the adhesive sets. Alternatively, glue and weigh the bar down until the adhesive sets.

Cut to length with a chopsaw or jigsaw.

Lengths and Colour Matching

The lacquered oak t-bar is available in 0.9m and 2.4m, selectable on this page. For most standard internal doorways, the 0.9m bar is the right choice. Meanwhile, the 2.4m bar is the better option for wider double doorway openings.
