Where to Use a Brushed Aluminium Ramp Bar

This bar suits hard floor to hard floor transitions where one surface sits higher than the other. Use it where LVT, vinyl click, stick-down vinyl, or laminate meets another hard floor at a different level. The tapered ramp profile bridges the height gap and removes the trip hazard at the doorway edge. Before fitting, the base must be clean, dry, and flat on both sides of the join. As a result, any dust or surface contamination will reduce the adhesive bond.

Where carpet meets a hard floor, a Z-Bar can be fixed down first to grip the carpet edge. The Self-Adhesive Ramp Bar then sticks on top of the Z-Bar, giving you the wood effect finish across the transition. This method works on Z-bars only. Please note – do not stick the Self-Adhesive Ramp Bar directly onto carpet. The adhesive will not bond to a soft textile surface and the bar will not hold. Fitting the SA70 Self-Adhesive Ramp Bar

Overall, fitting is quick and simple. Measure the doorway and cut the bar to length using a chopsaw or hacksaw. Then clean the floor surface on both sides of the join and remove the protective backing strip from the bar. Position the bar so the high side of the ramp sits against the higher floor edge. Press the bar firmly down along its full length. Hold steady pressure for a few seconds to allow the adhesive to bond. Finally, keep foot traffic off the bar for a short time after fitting to let the bond settle fully. No specialist tools, no drilling, no screws, and no track needed.
