Arret Brown Ramp Bar – Solid Oak Door Bar

The arret brown ramp bar is a solid oak door bar for doorways where one floor sits higher than the other. The Arret Brown finish is a medium warm brown with a clean, walnut-style appearance and subtle natural grain lines running through the surface. In particular, the warmth of the finish and the understated grain give the bar a refined, contemporary character. No printed finish replicates it.

The bar is 57mm wide, with a profile that rises to 21mm at the high floor side and steps down to 14mm at the low floor side. It covers height differences of 17 to 22mm using the supplied fixing track.

Where to Use an Arret Brown Solid Oak Ramp Bar

The ramp profile is for internal doorways where solid or engineered wood sits higher than the adjoining floor. Specifically, it suits situations where a height difference of 17 to 22mm exists between the two surfaces. For larger drops up to 27mm, glue and pin the bar directly to the subfloor without the track. Where both floors sit at the same height, the Arret Brown T-Bar is the correct profile to use.

Overall, Arret Brown works well in contemporary and transitional interiors – rooms with medium to dark wood floors, warm neutral skirting, and clean finishes throughout. It also blends naturally where the floor colour is close to the bar finish.

Fitting and Cutting

Screw or glue the fixing track to the subfloor in the doorway gap, with the taller side positioned against the higher floor. Once both floors are fitted up to the track, push the Ramp Bar onto the track to finish. If you cannot use the track, glue the bar to the subfloor and pin through the bar into the floor while the adhesive sets. Alternatively, glue and weigh the bar down until the adhesive sets.

Cut to length with a chopsaw or jigsaw.

Lengths and Colour Matching

The arret brown ramp bar is available in 0.9m and 2.4m, selectable on this page. For most standard internal doorways, the 0.9m bar is the right choice. Meanwhile, the 2.4m bar is the better option for wider doorway openings.
