Black Olive Ramp Bar – Solid Oak Door Bar

The black olive ramp bar is a solid oak door bar for doorways where one floor sits higher than the other. The Black Olive finish is near-black with warm dark olive-brown undertones running through the grain. In particular, the contrast between the dark stain and the natural grain movement of the oak gives the surface a depth that no printed finish replicates.

The bar is 57mm wide, with a profile that rises to 21mm at the high floor side and steps down to 14mm at the low floor side. Covers height differences of 17 to 22mm using the supplied fixing track.

Where to Use a Black Olive Solid Oak Ramp Bar

The ramp profile is for internal doorways where solid or engineered wood sits higher than the adjoining floor. Specifically, it suits situations where a height difference of 17 to 22mm exists between the two surfaces For larger drops up to 27mm, glue and pin the bar directly to the subfloor without the track.. Where both floors sit at the same height, the Black Olive T-Bar is the correct profile to use.

Black Olive works well in darker interiors – rooms with deep-toned wood floors, charcoal skirting, or strong contrast between surfaces. It also reads well as a deliberate contrast bar set against a lighter floor.

Fitting and Cutting

Screw or glue the fixing track to the subfloor in the doorway gap, with the taller side positioned against the higher floor. Once both floors are fitted up to the track, push the Ramp Bar onto the track to finish. If you cannot use the track, glue the bar to the subfloor and pin through the bar into the floor to hold it in place while the adhesive sets, or glue and weigh the bar down until the adhesive sets.

The black olive ramp bar is available in 0.9m and 2.4m, selectable on this page. For most standard internal doorways, the 0.9m bar is the right choice. Meanwhile, the 2.4m bar is the better option for wider doorway openings.
